Some scenes from Rotterdam’s small and singularly idiosyncratic natural history museum

I was eager to get back outside into the sunshine (precious sunny winter days should not be allowed to pass one by) and so didn’t take the time to make any notes on the specimens photographed (very remiss of me, I know!). However, if you’re wondering in terror what this last creature is (a newly discovered species of chicken-clawed, duck-beaked, razor-toothed, evil-eyed hamster perhaps?) rest assured that it is simply a taxidermic chimera (actually, on second thoughts, that isn’t necessarily reassuring…).
