We’re heading to Antwerp later today. The main purpose of our visit is to see Mogwai perform at the Rivierenhof open air amphitheatre, which I have not been to before but looks like a spectacular venue – perfect for the elemental, expansive sounds of Mogwai.

It was a little bit over a year ago that I last saw them play live – that was also open air, at Somerset House in London. London’s often ubiquitous rain moved away just in time and it turned in to a spectacularly beautiful evening…

And Mogwai put on a great performance. Here’s hoping the Belgian weather will be equally kind.

Of course a visit to Antwerp would be incomplete without sampling plenty of Belgian beer, Vlaamse frites and chocolate waffles, and taking in some of the Baroque drama of Peter Paul Rubens.

Have a good weekend!
